As you can see I changed my background. I was proud of myself that I acheived this, however you can see the mistake with the computer text to the right. I can not get rid of it. So those of you who can make out my "mistake" please help!!!!

Sorry for such delays in the blogging area. Many things have occurred since I last blogged.

Zoey has grown up to be a wonderful sassy cat. She will be a year old soon. Bogo gets to visit often. He even walked down the street to visit on his own unknowing
to his parents.

We had a great Christmas with family. Cassie and Eric gave JR and I a cruise for our Christmas and birthdays this year. We are and did turn 50 this year.

I had a wonderful 50th birthday. My dad, Jim came and surprised me for my birthday. My in laws also came to celebrate. My father in law Big John also celebrated his 70th birthday.

We had a wonderful non traditional Thanksgiving. All of our Thanksgivings are great, special and different.
This year my Dad,Jim, spent Thanksgiving with us. First Dad and I had lunch with Cassie and Eric's family in Blountsville. It was great.Eric's mom, dad, brother Brent and wife Mandy, his two aunts and families and last but not least his grandparents.
Then we headed to the airport to have dinner with JR. He had to work so the families were invited to join them for dinner. We all fixed things and had a great time visiting and eating. We had the biggest crowd. JR, me, my dad, Cassie,Eric and John were present. We had a tour of the tour and radar. Wish I had my camera for a pic of Cassie in the elevator. It was a 11 floors and then we had to climb three flights of stairs. Cassie hates elevators and plus her Dad has been stuck in this elevator a few times.
Lastly, we had dessert at Cassies. Cassie made a wonderful pumpkin cake. Our friends Ken, Mark and Morgan came also. What a wonderful fulfilling night.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because of the time I am able to spend with my family and friends.

What's New

Its been a long time. Let me catch you up a bit.
We have a new kitten named Zoey. She is a sweet, active kitty. Cassie went to Eric's family's farm. She intended to get me a kitty but came home with BOGO also. The two kittens are loveable and playful.
I know you already heard this news from Cassie. We also lost our spunky, wonderful Scarlett. She was 11 and had been ill for a little while. She did get to meet Zoey. She did not mind her but did not play with her. Zoey tried though. This has been a bitter, sweet time for us.

Puppy Day Care - Update

Puppy day care is almost over for the summer. I will be out of town next week and then start back to work August 8.

Luke loves to sleep on the top of the couch. He can see down the street and can check everything out. Daisy just loves to sleep on the couch on the pillows. She is like a princess atop the pillows. Spoiled!!!

Luke and Daisy greet us at the door with toys in their mouth. Usually their are toys in the yard and many around the house. They know how to get them out but do not put them away yet. I guess I need to work on that.

Cassie and Anita

When we first moved to Alabama we lived in an apartment in Hoover. Anita and her family livened up our stay their. Anita has not changed. She is full of live and a mess.

They loved playing the Wi. When they lived in Hoover they were 3, 5 and 7. They are 11, 13 and 16 now.

John came and brought vegetables and his famous deviled eggs. Cassie and Eric came and Cassie made Macaroni and Cheese. JR cooked chicken and steak on the grill. Yummy. I made potato salad.

We had a fun visit with old friends.

One Summer Project Completed

I have two projects I wanted to complete this summer. One was to clean out my bedroom closet. After a week it is finally finished. I have five bags of clothes to go to good will, one to Cassie, and one for the trash. I did not take a picture of the before look. I would be embarrassed.

The mountain of shoes is now gone and they are now hanging where they are suppose to be.

We moved J.R.'s dresser into the closet. I cleaned out all the clothes in his dresser. We got new furniture at Christmas. We moved the furniture upstairs but still needed his dresser.

This is our bedroom presently.

Luke Watching for Mom & Dad

Luke likes Puppy Daycare however around 3:00 he gets on the couch and starts looking or waiting for his Mom & Dad.

While Cassie & Eric have been at work I have been hosting puppy daycare for Luke & Daisy.

I am teaching them to stay and then move when I say okay. I have a treat on the floor and told them to stay.

Now I told them okay and they retrieved the treat.

This is the timeout couch. When they get in trouble they get put in timeout.

They love to sleep in the big bed.

The Golden Gate Bridge is not Golden.

The Golden Gate bridge is not golden. The area was called the "Golden Gate" during the gold rush because it was the gate to gold so when they built the bridge they named it the "Golden Gate Bridge". The architect wanted to paint it gray but compromise was made to paint it orange. Now you can actually ride your bike or jog across the bridge. They have a path and you can also ride your bike and then ride the ferry back.

JR and I posing. We had just came from Napa Valley and it was in the 80's and then we stopped at the bridge and it cooled down to 60 degrees. Brr.

Two my teacher friends were in San Francisco when we got their. So we drove to Napa Valley and then stopped at the bridge. Karen on the left and Shelia on the right.

San Francisco

We really enjoyed San Francisco. There was so much to see, do and taste. Fisherman's Warf, Coit Tower, Pier 39 and many more exciting things.

This is a picture of Pier 39. The sea lions were uninvited guests from the earthquake in the 1990's. They are now an integral part of the Pier. They are loud, stinky and very funny. There was also many little shops, lots of food places and entertainment all day.

The crookest street in San Francisco. They built this road crooked because it is very steep. Now it is a tourist attraction. Cars line up to go down the street at 5 miles per hour.

This is a picture of Alcatraz. We climed up 274 stairs in the city up to Coit Tower. We went through city streets and near many homes. I do not think many people own cars due to the small streets and crowed area. There were very few traffic lights in the city. There were many four way stop signs. It was scarey and conjested. It was better to trave on foot, bike or mass transit.

Where's Yogie?

We went to Yosemeti National Park. However we did not see any bears. We did see a deer who was munching on some food three feet away from us. I was startled by the deer but he was not startled by me.

The Sequoia Trees are huge and old. They do not get their red color until they are at least 300 years old. We hiked up two miles to find the fallen tree.

Waterfalls - amazing!!!

Wow! Vacation.....

I know it has been a while since I have blogged. Have been vacationing and then I was locked out of my blog. Eric came to the rescue again. Thanks Eric.

I have been to three different coast in a month's time. I was in South Carolina,
California and then at the Gulf Coast.

JR and I saw lots of California. We both lived in California as children and JR also went to boot camp in San Diego so we wanted to visit many places while we were their. We flew into Los Angles and then rented a car, a convertible, and continued on to our firt destination.

First we went to the San Diego Zoo. We spent seven hours their and saw so many different and endangered species. The plant life was also amazing because the exihibits for the animals were created using the animals natural habitats.

During the next few days we visited the military bases and the San Diego coast. We also stayed in a fabulous hotel with an upclose few of the airport.

Ginger's Retirement

This past week I visited Beaufort, South Carolina. My wonderful friend is retiring from teaching after 36 years. I also saw many friends while visiting. I had a great time.

Gradiation Day! Yeah!!

Graduation Day is finally here. I was exhausted and excited. It was a fabulous day. My husband, children, in-laws, Carol, and my Dad's were here to celebrate my success. We had a family gathering afterwards. I really enjoyed having my family and friends visiting. Thanks to Cassie who opened the Irvin Inn for Grandma and Grandpa Roberts. The rest of the family stayed at our house. It was a relaxing, fun time.

Mother's Day Babies

We have three new members to the Roberts' Family. Three baby Finches were born on Mother's Day. This is our first nest on our property. The mom and dad buildt a nest in the Yellow Jasmine in the gardenn next to the porch. I have been taking pictures to document their progress. Yesterday I saw one baby flying away. Today the nest was empty. It has been exciting watching them grow.

Hello everyone. I am following in my daughters footsteps and going to start blogging. I learned how to blog during a college class and with lots of assistance from Cassie and Eric. Well let's see if I can do this.
